“Life gave me the talent to play the piano and to inspire happiness in people through music; and I am just grateful that it gave me a love of music. Music makes us humans rich. It is the revelation of the divine. It takes us to paradise”.
Alice Herz-Sommer is the subject of a bestselling book ‘A Garden of Eden in Hell’ which recall the events of her time in the concentration camps.
Alice Herz-Sommer is now 108 years of age and attributes her longevity to her optimism. In the following clip it is apparent this woman is someone very special, who has an extraordinary gift that she shares through music.
Another book, “A Century of Wisdom: Lessons from the Life of Alice Herz-Sommer, the World’s Oldest Living Holocaust Survivor” by Caroline Stoessinger, was published March 2012.
You have to see and listen to this woman to believe it. She still plays the piano up to three hours a day. Your heart will be touched, (how could it not?), and your soul moved. What an inspiration this woman is. To think many of us aspire to be like her, and get no where near the reality.
